"Before I joined I was working in bid management for a global plc. I had no definite plans of changing employer; I was browsing on the web when I found out about the opportunities at Beachcroft. Being offered an interview at Beachcroft was a swift process and the impressions I got from the people at the interview gave me all the assurance I needed.
"I'm responsible for the bid process and documents produced by Beachcroft for our clients, so I get involved in a range of areas including business planning, developing written and visual communications and selling. I've benefited from a wide range of formal training on bid writing, sales techniques and management - and I've also learned a huge amount on the job in areas like graphics.
"My normal day consists of researching and writing bids, project planning, talking with team members about deadlines or with Partners about new opportunities, travelling to other Beachcroft offices (I'm normally based in Bristol) or planning future activities.
"I've developed and improved some of the ideas I brought with me from my previous employer and applied them successfully at Beachcroft. My proudest moment are playing a key role in large successful bids.
"It's a progressive environment and if you're committed to improving yourself you certainly won't find anyone standing in your way. The work-life balance is good too - whilst my working week sometimes consists of more than my 'contractual' hours, I'm able to work at home in the evenings, weekends and occasionally during the day to meet my other commitments."
