"The firm has grown considerably since I joined eleven years ago and I have developed a great deal in that time with a number of role changes.
"I look after a team of 7 people (General Office staff and Reception), taking responsibility for the smooth running of our office and assisting the Location Manager with HR admin such as scanning, updating personnel information, recruitment and inductions. I've dealt with many projects but most of them relate to organising events, from big office moves to Christmas parties. At times I've deputised for the Location Manger, which has given me a real opportunity to show what I can do.
"My proudest moment so far was probably in 2001, when I got involved in a huge project to fit out a 10,000 square foot area of floor space in line with our existing layout. I had to deal with architects, building contractors and later with removal firms to co-ordinate the relocation of staff into the area. It was very important to me that Partners and staff were happy with what was going on around them. It was hard work but the end result was superb and we now have a fully operational office. I now co-ordinate all office moves and it was this particular project which I believe helped me to move into the facilities area of my role.
"I enjoy my job and couldn't imagine myself doing anything else now! I am about to embark on another project to update our Birmingham office, which will again take substantial planning, so I'll have something else to get my teeth into! I couldn't truly say where I see my career with the firm taking me but I'm confident from my experience of this firm over the years that I'll always be given room to grow."
